Timex Concept: The Watch Not On Your Wrist

Save for jewelry, forget about wearing anything on your wrist. In the future, our nails will tell the time! At least if Watch on thumbnail TX54 ever hits retail.

As a concept, the TX54 is simply a translucent tiny timekeeping device that attaches to your fingernail. Features such as changing the color of the display text and deactivating the visuals are available, and the concept is even complete with some subtle branding!

Kontrast Blog theorizes that the TX54 is perfect for frequent flyers—New York time on the right thumb, London on the left—but I think the TX54 should have a more useful application: imagine how effective an alarm on your thumb would be, especially if it causes pain to wake you up!

There’s no word yet on availability and pricing, so I’ll leave you with some background info: “Napoleon Merana, Steffen Schubert and David Takacs made this concept for Time×2154: THE FUTURE OF TIME design competition organised by Timex in collaboration with Cor⟁ to celebrate 150th Anniversary of Timex.”
